That Swing Thing

Founding member of That Swing Thing – Terry Davis, bassist extraordinaire.
Terry’s career as a bass player has always been very varied, encompassing jazz, blues, rock, pop and theatre. He has recorded with Rod Stewart, featured as support artist to Eric Clapton, and with his function band has played for Her Majesty the Queen at many parties at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle, as well as parties for Lady Diana’s family at their home in Althrop. He has also played with many notable jazz artists such as Al Grey and Buddy Tate from the Count Basie Orchestra, and Cleo Laine and Johnny Dankworth.

Nowadays, he is performing at some of London’s top hotels, such as The Dorchester, Claridge’s and The Savoy.

Roger Lewin – Pianist
Roger has been playing piano and keyboards from the age of four. As a teenager he got his first professional gigs playing for hotels and theatre companies in the West Country. Even back then his versatility and ability meant he was always in demand for bands, as an accompanist and as a solo artist.

Since moving to Kent in 1998 he has quickly built up a reputation as an outstanding accompanist due to his fluid style and sensitivity. As well as ‘That Swing Thing’ he has performed with numerous other artists including jazz giants Trudy Kerr, Tina May, Derek Nash and Dave O’Higgins, and pop groups Hot
Chocolate and Boney M.

Come fly with me
I’ve got you under my skin
Fly me to the moon.
Satin Doll
Summertime
Unforgettable
Lady is a tramp
When I fall in love
Lullaby of birdland
Have you met Miss Jones
La Mer ( Beyond the sea )
Mack the knife
It had to be you
Route 66
The summer wind
Girl from Ipanema
Night and day
Moon river
I can’t give you anything but love
Sentimental journey
Our love is here to stay
I could write a book
S’Wonderful
Let there be love
A foggy day
Honeysuckle rose
The way you look tonight
Witchcraft
Autumn leaves
East of the sun
September in the rain
But not for me
Love me or leave me
Sway
On the sunnyside of the street
Misty
As time goes by
September in the rain
Cry me a river
Don’t get around much anymore
Blue Moon
Sometimes I’m happy
The very thought of you
Moonlight in Vermont
Ain’t misbehaving
After you’ve gone
Almost like being in love
This can’t be love
Let’s fall in love
Im gonna sit right down and write myself a letter
Teach me tonight
Embraceable you
Hallelujah I just love her so
You don’t know me
Hit the road jack
Here’s that rainy day
It’s only a paper moon
It’s all right with me
How high the moon
I’ve got rhythm
I only have eyes for you
It don’t mean a thing (if it ain’t got that swing)
I wish you love
Let’s do it
Making whoopie
Mean to me
Moonglow
The nearness of you
You go to my head
A nightingale sang in Berkeley Square
On a clear day
Pennies from heaven
Quando quando quando
Something stupid
Straighten up and fly right
Strangers in the night
The more I see you
I’m in the mood for love
Save the last dance for me
Moondance
Can’t take my eyes off you
Just the way you are
Slow boat to China
